The manufacturing plant in Port Elizabeth produces both small and large volume parenterals.

The main purpose of the OHSE Office is to assist the SHER Manager to pro-actively minimize the safety risks of all employees, contractors and visitors through the maintenance of sound safety, health and environmental policies, programs and practices. The OHSE officer will promote a strong safety culture and will assist with the implementation and maintenance of OHSE management systems.

Global Responsibilities/Duties (Global-ANNNEX-HR-000003252)

• Execution of Training activities according to requirements
• Providing training to contractors based on controlled training content
• Assessing learners understanding of the training content

Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management:

• Assist with OHSE incident investigations.
• Present OHSE site induction training to contractors and newly appointed FKMSA staff.
• Present OHSE internal training sessions with staff
• Communicate the monthly OHSE meeting minutes to departmental managers and OHSE speakers.
• Update site SHER notice boards monthly
• Update monthly OHSE statistical data for FKMSA (LTFIR, FAIFR and DIFR).
• Participate in OHSE internal audits as part of the OHSE internal audit team.
• Asist with Global OHSE, ISO and Legal compliance audits.
• Assist OHSE-IMS users with system related matters to ensure the system is utilized by all departmental users and conduct training where needed.
• Assist with the updating, improving, review and auditing of the OHSE management systems for ISO 14001.
• Liaise with contractors to obtain contractor control documentation and update the contractor status in the OHSE-IMS system.
• Raise OHSE related job cards for Technical services for repairs, replacement or new installations required.
• Obtain service records from Technical services for the fire prevention system, pressure equipment, load test certificates and electrical certificates.
• Assist with the implementation of ISO 45001 standards and requirements pertaining to:-

*GAP analysis
*Update and implementation of documentation
*Awareness training

• Perform daily plant walkabouts to address OHSE related matters with staff and contractors.
• Assist with OHSE hygiene site surveys.
• Assist with site inspections from local authorities.
• Assist with site contractor management.
• Liaise with quality and conduct administrative tasks in eDMS and KarbiTrack with regards to all OHSE procedures, policy, investigations and CAPAxe2x80x99s.

OHSE Systems:

• OHSE integrated management system (IMS) - mySHEQ

• Capture all OHSE related training records and competency certificated.
• Assist with the capturing of historical OHSE data.
• Capture MSDS/SDS information.
• xc3x98 Capture CAPAxe2x80x99s with regards to emergency preparedness improvements.
• Capture monthly OHSE statistical data.
• xc3x98 Capture CAPAxe2x80x99s relating to external Global, ISO and Legal audits, internal audits, inspections, safe behavioral observations, near misses, incidents, management of change and hygiene surveys.
• Capture OHSE statutory documentation like pressure equipment tests and inspections, load test certificates, permits, equipment registration certificates, fire equipment service records and electrical certificates.
• Capture contractor information and documentation as per the contractor control SOP.
• Capture internal and external audit reports and findings.
• Capture OHSE risk assessments, inspections, observations, incidents, investigations, management of change, near-misses and meetings.
• xc3x98 Capture daily plant inspection reports and allocate CAPAxe2x80x99s accordingly.
• xc3x98 Capture monthly OHSE representative inspection reports.

• Capture contractor induction training and employee records.

General: * Attend monthly OHSE meetings.

• Tertiary diploma in Safety Management and/or Environmental Management
• SAMTRAC or equivalent
• Internal ISO 14001 and 45001 auditor qualification is an advantage
• Minimum of five yearsxe2x80x99 working experience in OHSE combined with computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Outlook)
• Minimum three yearsxe2x80x99 experience within the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of relevant OHSE legislation
• Working knowledge in OHSE management systems ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
• Knowledge of OHSE incident investigation (RCAT, ICAM)
• Knowledge of risk assessment techniques (HIRA, HAZOP)
