OFM, Central South Africa's leading commercial radio station, is looking for a sharp-eyed, digitally-savvy

Copy Editor & Digital Publisher

to join our dynamic news team. This is a fulltime, in-office position reporting to the OFM News editor in Bloemfontein.

Requirements & Competencies:

A tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communication, Language Studies, or related field. Minimum three years' proven experience in copy editing (preferably in a news environment). Exceptional written and verbal skills in Afrikaans and English. Sound knowledge of broadcasting and digital publishing laws and regulations. Strong editorial judgement and news sense. Ability to work quickly, accurately and under pressure. Comfortable working shifts and leading a team when needed. Proficient in writing both editorial and commercial copy. Tech savvy - able to perform basic editing on photo, audio, and video and reformat to upload to various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, style and legal compliance. Rework and rewrite stories where necessary, aligning with OFM's tone and brand. Translate content between Afrikaans and English. Write original news articles and advertorials from briefs or desktop research. Publish multimedia content to OFM's digital platforms, including social media. Maintain the OFM Style Guide. Compile newsroom stats and analytics. Work closely with journalists and freelancers to ensure high-quality, timely content.
