Job Description

The Senior Mechanical Technician, reporting to the OTM, is responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of all the mining and plant systems machinery and equipment, as directed by the Offshore Technical Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure compliance with Group Safety and Security policies.

Complete Risk Assessments on all activities.

Ensure compliance with Permits to Work (Hot Work etc)

Safe inspections, maintenance and repairs to all mining and plant equipment and machinery as directed by the Offshore Technical Manager.

Look for improvements in maintenance routines to optimise working standards

Assist other departments where required.

Ensures all work tools are safe and properly maintained and stowed.

Lead the team during the seabed tool launch and recovery.

Ensure housekeeping is maintained to the required standard at all work sites.

Report on spares and consumables required during maintenance

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

Crane operating certification driving, rigging & slinging

Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical installations

Fitter and turner capabilities would be advantageous

Minimum of 5 years' experience as an artisan in a mechanical role

Offshore or mining experience preferred

Trade Qualification

Valid passport

Valid Police Clearance Certificate

Valid Seafarers Medical certificate

ROTATION & WORKING HOURS

8 weeks on / 4 weeks off

12-hour shifts

Monday to Sunday
