Job Summary KHUMANI Northern Cape KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: To make observations and measurements and to collect data about the rock conditions or rock mechanics of the workplace to enable interpretations and recommendations to the mining department, which includes but not limited to: Strata Control inspection Incident investigation Rock Engineering input Geotechnical data Bench stability analysis Monitoring Limit blast quality assurance /quality control Mining control of special areas Risk assessment compliance and adherence Continuous improvement Internal and external stakeholder relationships SHERQ adherence and compliance in own work area Work Ethics QUALIFICATIONS National Certificate (NQF level 3) in Strata Control Operations (Accredited by Chamber of Mines) Blasting Certificate / Rock breaking MQA equivalent qualification in Surface Mining (Recommended) B Degree / B Tech Degree (NQF level 7) in Rock Engineering / Geology / Mining (Recommended) EXPERIENCE Minimum of three (3) years operational Strata Control experience in a mining environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Computer literacy Basic user of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Risk management discipline (functional) and specific software / tools, Discipline specific software and tools (basic user of MicroStation, Map3D, D Block etc. or equivalent) Business acumen / Commercial awareness Strong business acumen to understand impact on business Interpersonal relationships & skills Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time Analytical Ability to gather and analyse information and demonstrate an understanding of how the issue may be part of a larger system Formulate plans, design and test solutions to problems Functional Mining and HRM business processes Mine Health System Act Explosives Act (other legal) Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Skills National Water Act (other legal) Functional understanding of IWULA Waste Management and Environmental monitoring requirements Change management Problem solving Attention to detail Communication OTHER REQUIREMENTS Medically fit Meet required medical fitness standards Drivers license Valid Code B/EB drivers license
