Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of an enhanced employability programme.
  • Plan and execute programme initiatives.
  • Assist with the recruitment process of student employees and assist with HR processes.
  • Assist with the design and implement workshops, training sessions, and seminars to develop students' employability skills.
  • Update all relevant information pertaining students/staff on the Blackboard.
  • Serve as a liaison with ASCD/BLISS team on the registration and coordination of the assigned organization.
  • Develop, design, and upload all resources on the Blackboard organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in navigating the job market.
  • Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions to assist students in career planning, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Organise networking events, and guest speaker sessions to connect students with industry professionals.
  • Facilitate mentorship programs and internships to provide practical industry exposure.
  • Coordinate with LinkedIn Learning partners, career services and A_STEP staff to promote career development opportunities and integrate employability activities within existing services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and industry partners to facilitate internships, job placements, and industry projects.
  • Assist with the development of assessment tools and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the employability programs.
  • Compile impact reports and evaluations.
  • Collect data on student outcomes for programme impact reporting.
  • Regularly review and update the programme based on feedback and industry trends.
  • Stay informed about current employability trends, labour market demands, and emerging job sectors.
  • Manage the budget for the assigned programmes.
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Coordinate the programme administration.
Inherent Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or B-Tech on NQF level 7.
  • A minimum of Two (2) years relevant working experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
Recommendations:
  • Two (2) years' experience in programme facilitation, tutoring, or mentoring.
  • Postgraduate qualification
  • Proven experience in programme development or support, project management support, or career services.
  • Ability to analyse data, measure program outcomes, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven experience performing similar duties.
  • Knowledge of employability skills and current job market trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, faculty, and industry professionals.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in using technology and online platforms for programme management and delivery.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R408 148.50 - R513 407.84 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
