Description

Provide general administrative support to line manager, staff and students such as:

  • Undertake general office administration and operations.
  • Handle general enquiries and answering incoming calls.
  • Photocopy documents and bind.
  • Draft letters and reports.
  • Manage the computer lab.
  • Capture research outputs.
  • Assist with department website management.

Provide academic Administrative support such as:
  • Capture and make sure of the accuracy of the marks and data.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate assessment moderation processes.
  • Assist with the compilation and verification of class and exam timetables for the department.
  • Assist with the administration of applications for selection programmes and registration.
  • Monitor submission of examination question papers and or study guides.
  • Organise workshops, seminars and co-ordinate various department events.
  • Keep track of and monitor the progress of thesis and dissertation assessment and corrections.
  • Assist academics with e-platform administration {Blackboard).
  • Co-ordinate contact/block sessions for compact learning programmes.
  • Maintain and update student records and statistics and subject files.

Provide financial administrative support such as:
  • Purchase and order office supplies, stationery and equipment.
  • Assist with travelling and accommodation arrangements.

Provide human and physical resource administrative support as requested such as:
  • Assist with stock taking and updating of departmental physical assets.
Provide academic administrative support such as:
  • Assist academics with e-platform administration (Blackboard).
Inherent Job Requirements:
  • A 3-year National Diploma on NQF level 6 or higher qualification.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' relevant administrative experience.
Recommendations:
  • Financial management skills and experience.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or a B-Tech degree on NQF level 7.
