This role forms part of the core operational backbone of the business and requires someone who understands the importance of financial and administrative control in a technical environment.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Office Administrator
to manage the company's day-to-day administrative and bookkeeping functions. This is a hands-on role requiring independence, accuracy, and accountability.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment and be capable of managing core processes without constant supervision.
Reporting line:
This role reports directly to the Director
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day administration and office support
Full creditors and debtors' management
Processing and reconciling transactions on SAGE Accounting
Procurement support: obtaining supplier quotes, costing, and maintaining records
Bookkeeping, filing, and structured records management
Account and supplier reconciliations
Handling general enquiries (telephonic and email) with professionalism
Maintaining accurate documentation and audit-ready records
Supporting operational and financial workflows across the business
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Applicants must meet the following to be considered:
2-4 years' proven experience in an administrative / bookkeeping role
Hands-on experience using SAGE Accounting software
Solid understanding of creditors, debtors, and basic bookkeeping
Practical procurement exposure (quotes, costings, supplier coordination)
Strong computer literacy
Professional telephone manner and written communication
Excellent command of the English language
Based in Durban and available for full-time, office-based work
Advantageous
Certified SAGE Practitioner
Formal or informal basic accounting studies/courses
Previous procurement or finance-admin experience
Experience in an engineering, construction, or technical services environment
