The Centre of Psychotherapy Excellence (COPE), is a multi-disciplinary treatment programme that lies at the heart of Akeso's mental health facilities and specialises in mental health care services. The permanent
Occupational Therapist position will be based at the Akeso Gqeberha Clinic. The incumbent will contribute and coordinate all mental health related activities ensuring quality care and support to patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate daily group therapy sessions
Facilitate weekly outpatient/aftercare support program
Provide ongoing outpatient therapeutic services
Orientation/intake assessments
Occupational Therapy assessments as needed
Management of individual cases
Conduct individual sessions
Active engagement in weekly ward rounds
Supervision and professional development in line with the requirements of HPCSA
Record keeping requirements in line with the HPCSA regulations and group practice
Work as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team in the adult general psychiatry unit
Administrative duties for COPE as required to ensure smooth running of the therapeutic program and units.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Professional Registration as an Occupational therapist
Registered with HPCSA and BHF
Knowledge and experience of DBT principles would be advantageous
