Occupational Therapist -- Independence, Participation, AccessPurpose

Build independence in self-care, learning, and daily routines. Improve participation in home and community contexts.

Scope

Functional assessment, therapy, environmental adaptation, and home program design. Collaboration with clinicians and caregivers. Documentation and outcomes reporting.
Core Responsibilities

Assess motor, sensory, self-care, and executive function skills. Set goals and task-analysis ladders for routines (morning/evening, classroom tasks, community access). Deliver therapy for fine/visual-motor, praxis, sensory modulation, handwriting, and executive skills. Prescribe structured home programs and visual schedules; train caregiver and Therapy Assistant. Recommend low-cost aids when indicated; define safe use and benefits. Track outcomes with functional measures; adjust intervention intensity.
Deliverables

Functional assessment and goal plan. Program sheets and visual schedules. Session notes, monthly summaries, final outcomes report.
Skills

Task analysis. Habit formation. Environmental fit. Parent coaching. Clear written protocols.
Tools

Telehealth platform, routine planners, checklists, timers, data sheets.
Experience / Qualification

Degree in Occupational Therapy. Pediatric experience preferred.
KPIs

Independence milestones met. Home-program adherence ?80%. Timely, audit-ready documentation.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: R175,00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 15 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Johannesburg, Gauteng
