Occupational Health Nurse

Introduction

A vacancy exists for an Occupational Health Nurse reporting to the Unit Manager, based at the Life Occupational Health clinic.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the rendering of a quality occupational health service that is effective, efficient and exceeds customer's expectation and requirements for an Occupational Health Clinic Kathu in the Northern Cape.

Critical Outputs

• Development of an Occupational Health program and the improvement on the existing programme
• Occupational Health Service, to establish the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of the worker in a safe working environment
• Monitoring the health status of employees through on-going surveillance programmes
• Providing information to the onsite Client that could be utilised to eliminate, control and minimise health risks and hazards to which the employees are, or may be exposed
• Working effectively within a budget
• Meeting administration needs timeously
• Meeting the prescribed professional and quality standards of both Life Occupational Health and the client
• Leading sub-ordinates and inspiring them in the right direction
• Co-ordinating the clinic management

Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

• Ideally, the candidate should have experience in administration, employee relations and communications.
• Qualifications in General Nursing and Occupational Health Nursing BTECH/Diploma with 2- 3 years' experience post-graduation mining environment with the SANC.
• Certificate in Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision, Multidrug test, HIV counselling and dispensing and registration.
• Computer literacy & own transport is essential.
• Candidates who are result-oriented, good communication skills, have initiative and the ability to deliver quality outputs and reduce costs, will be most suitable for this position.
• Knowledge regarding Occupational Health will be an advantage.
• Customer orientation, focus and teamwork complete the profile.
• Driver's licence Code 8.
