VACANCY: NURSING MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH NURSING LECTURER (PRETORIA CAMPUS)

Requirements :

oSenior Certificate or equivalent qualification.

oBasic qualifications accredited with South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e., Diploma/Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Registered Nurse and Midwife.

oDegree in Nursing.

oDiploma/Degree in Nursing Education registered with the SANC.

oMaster's Degree in nursing

oCurrent SANC registration receipt.

oRegistered with SANC as an assessor / moderator

oMinimum of four (4) years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience as Registered Nurse in a unit manager capacity.

oThree (3) years appropriate and recognisable experience in nursing education (management and research) after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification in Nursing Education.

oMust be computer literate.

oValid driver's license and own transport.

Duties :

The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks:

oplanning, coordination and implementation of the nursing management and research modules for the R171 programme

oprovide theoretical and clinical instructions

oconduct evaluations of Nursing programmes;

oclinical accompaniment,

osupervision and implementation of assessment strategies to determine student competencies;

oexercise control over students; provide students' guidance and support towards attainment of minimum course requirements as set by SANC.

oSupport the mission of the College by serving in Committees, attending, and participating in meetings and College/Campus activities.

oReview and evaluate curriculum.

oEngage in own Continuous Professional Development (CPD) related to own area of practice and to Nursing Education.
