Support the new product development team in the thorough and timeous completion of projects [From factory trials through to launching the product].
Manage technical processes required during innovation and new product development by identifying potential risks and challenges by bringing forth suggestions and improvements to safety and quality control procedures in the factory from raw material to finished product.
Ensure all food safety concerns are highlighted during innovation and development process and solutions are implemented.
Lead various projects as assigned.
Product and process improvement and technical problem solving, offer support to production.
Conduct and lead factory trials of new and existing products and ensuring product specifications are adhered to, data recording and process flow adjustments at trial stage.
Compiling factory trial reports and feedback on trials conducted.
Coordinate launches of new products and existing products.
Adhere to timelines and ensuring that CPAs are met.
Conducting organoleptic evaluation and establishing product shelf life.
Ensuring that products are sent in for nutritional and microbiological analysis, interpret and communicate result and feedback to the business and clients.
Facilitate internal sensory evaluation activities to develop a strong awareness of sensory attributes of new products and raw material.
Coordinate internal evaluations of newly developed products during factory trials and upgrades.
Liaising with suppliers pertaining issues we experience on batch packs, machinery and new processes introduced to the production floor.
Bring forth suggestions and improvements to safety and quality control procedures in the factory from raw material to finished product.
Maintain packaging material database and liaising with packaging suppliers.
Manage new projects through to first production, ensuring all requirements are met.
Plan and schedule assigned projects efficiently by ensuring timelines are met and adhered to.
Communicate project status both internally and externally according to agreed ways of working.
Manage and lead new products development activities and be fully accountable through the whole cycle from factory trials to launch.
Lead cross functional collaboration internally and externally to manage projects at Factory trial level till post launch.
Actively support supply chain and QA with technical know-how on new products and existing products and ensure quality is adhered to during trial phase.
Lead product and process implementation to execute internal and external trial related activities and monitoring first production runs.

Possess at least 3-4 years food product development experience, preferably within Food or FMCG industry
You will also possess a degree/HND or equivalent in a food science or related subject
You will be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail plus be IT literate including Microsoft Office.
You will also have a good understanding of food hygiene, HACCP and food safety
Follow FSSC 22000 Requirements.
