THE ORGANISATION

AMANDLA is a globally award-winning social enterprise with over a decade of experience in community development with a focus on youth, local economies, infrastructure, collective impact, and sport. We have offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg (South Africa), Berlin (Germany), Delhi (India) and Philadelphia (USA).

AMANDLA builds and operates more than 10 operational community & youth development centres, so-called Safe-Hubs, and is currently scaling Safe-Hub projects globally. The Innovation & New Ventures department focusses on and channels AMANDLA's efforts to develop and implement holistic education programmes and products, as well as social businesses to maximize social, economic and environmental impact whilst creating sustainable income streams.

In one of our latest initiative, we've ventured into the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector, successfully piloting South Africa's first township-based BPO centre in a public-private partnership. This innovative project not only brings much-needed employment opportunities directly into township communities but also redefines the landscape of the BPO industry by uniting inclusivity, local economic development and sustained social impact. Whilst AMANDLA is not a BPO operator, we establish the conditions and infrastructure for private operators to thrive in underserved contexts, driving employment and economic resilience. Our role includes partner facilitation, ecosystem services, investment mobilisation, and venture coordination.

With over a decade of experience in creating safe spaces for youth, AMANDLA is now poised to scale this impact across the BPO sector, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and expand our footprint in this vibrant industry. Join us in harnessing the power of social enterprise to transform the BPO sector, driving sustainable economic growth and creating equitable opportunities for all.

JOB SCOPE

As

New Ventures Manager (BPO Model)

, you will lead the expansion and evolution of AMANDLA's BPO venture programme. This is not a site-operator role. It is a cross-functional mid-management position bridging programme design, partnership engagement and local ecosystem enablement to grow our BPO programme nationally and beyond.

You will coordinate the development of township-based contact centre ventures in collaboration with operators, investors, public stakeholders and service partners. This includes managing the strategic roadmap, refining the business model, ensuring delivery of support services (e.g. agent mobilisation, infrastructure services, CRM), and unlocking replication opportunities across sites.

Identify, evaluate, and secure new BPO sites through comprehensive business case development, financial modelling, and viability assessments, ensuring alignment with AMANDLA's mission and the BPO sector's growth objectives. Spearhead BPO partner acquisition and stakeholder management, forging strong relationships with investors, operators and clients to secure investment and foster operational excellence. Provide project management leadership for BPO initiatives, aligning cross-functional internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and adherence to SLAs. Spearhead the development and integration of Safe-Hub ecosystem services, streamlining operational efficiencies, talent mobilization, and local SMME engagement to boost retention, satisfaction, and economic impact within BPO operations. Lead the integration and development of Safe-Hub ecosystem value-add services for agents, optimizing agent retention and satisfaction through tailored support services. Act as a critical bridge between BPO clients and AMANDLA's internal teams, channeling client feedback into actionable insights for the Product and Innovation & New Ventures departments, driving the iteration and enhancement of services.
