A client in the healthcare tech sector is seeking a seasoned, results-driven Business Development Consultant to take ownership of new-business sales and revenue growth. Your primary responsibility would be to acquire new business, expand adoption of their medical billing and payment software solutions, and consistently exceed sales targets.
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, you will also act as a key voice of the market, providing feedback on customer needs, Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) insights, and product messaging to help refine campaigns and collateral. This is a senior individual contributor role with the potential to grow into a team lead position, as the sales function scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Revenue Growth

  • Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets with pipeline coverage of 3-4x quota.
  • Dedicate 70%+ of time to prospecting, pitching, and closing net-new business with specialist practices.
  • Negotiate contracts, secure signed agreements, and coordinate seamless onboarding with Customer Success Manager.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates to the Marketing Manager and Executive team.?
Relationship Building & Market Presence
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with specialist doctors, practice managers, and healthcare decision-makers.
  • Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and networking sessions to generate leads and increase brand visibility.
  • Maintain up-to-date market intelligence on healthcare billing trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
Collaboration & Strategic Input
  • Partner with marketing to share ideal customer profile insights, proof points, and objections heard in the field.
  • Contribute to refining messaging and campaigns. Marketing remains campaign owner, sales focuses on closing.
  • Offer structured feedback on sales collateral, demos, and onboarding experience to improve conversion and retention.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 - 5 years' experience, with a proven track record of net-new sales success in healthcare, medical billing, private banking, or SaaS/software.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, pipeline management, and Microsoft/Google Workspace tools.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using software and applications, with the ability to quickly adopt new applications and explain tech solutions confidently to clients.
  • Problem-Solving & Negotiation: Handles objections and navigates multi-stakeholder decisions.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to earn trust and develop long-term partnerships.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Ensures solutions deliver measurable value to practices.
  • Commercial Awareness: Either understands already or can quickly grasp the financial drivers of private healthcare practices.
  • Results & Target Orientation: Disciplined focus on quota and pipeline metrics.?
  • A valid driver's licence & vehicle
  • Ability to travel (local practice visits plus occasional national trips and conferences).
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
