Network Engineer job descriptionNetwork Engineer Responsibilities Include: Monitoring network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliabilityConfiguring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, DNS)Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurationsJob briefWe are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs for our clients and for internal use.Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
  • Mentor team members on technical issues
  • Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
  • Communicate with users when needed
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • 5-8 year's experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator
  • Professional certification e.g. CCNP, CCDP (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
  • Solid background in network administration and architecture
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and mentoring skills
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in English required.
  • Ability to operate under pressure, must be energetic, fast an accurate worker who is results driven
  • Good people skills, assertiveness and attention to detail
  • Business writing skills as well as good telephone etiquette
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
