Job Description

Intellifi is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our growing technical team. You'll be responsible for building, managing, and continuously improving our internet and network infrastructure to deliver robust, high-performing connectivity solutions to business clients across South Africa.

You will work closely with our installations, support, and development teams to ensure uptime, efficiency, and client satisfaction at every level.

Key responsibilities

1.? ?Design, configure, and implement best-practice network architectures (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/VPN)

2.? ?Build, monitor, and maintain client internet and managed network environments

3.? ?Perform Tier 2 support, resolve escalated technical faults, and assist with root cause analysis

4.? ?Develop and document network support protocols, software, and standard operating procedures

5.? ?Maintain, review, and upgrade existing infrastructure, ensuring stability, scalability, and security

6.? ?Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network performance and device health (Mikrotik, Reyee, etc.)

7.? ?Provide hands-on support to Tier 1 engineers, guiding fault finding and implementing fixes

8.? ?Manage VLANs, network bridging, load balancing, and failover configurations

9.? ?Contribute to internal knowledge base and continuous improvement of the network ecosystem

Required skills and Experience

1.? ?3-5 years' experience as a Network Engineer or similar role

2.? ?Strong knowledge of:

2.1 TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing and switching

2.2 VLAN, network bridging, wireless mesh networks

2.3 VPN technologies (IPSec/OpenVPN/L2TP)

2.4 Network performance monitoring tools

3.? ?Experience with Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Reyee, or similar equipment

4.? ?Familiarity with FNO and ISP-level network design, failover logic, and security protocols

5.? ?Ability to write or integrate basic network automation scripts (e.g. Python, Bash, PHP optional)

6.? ?Advantageous: Experience with VoIP traffic shaping, SIP, and QoS setup

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From R15000,00 per month
