We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize network operations across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational administration of network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, availability, and security of services while meeting SLA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, and wireless technologies.
Oversee and support network and patch rooms across sites.
Manage and optimize Internet access, WAN, and LAN infrastructure and services.
Administer DMZ, Firewall, VPN, APN, and Proxy infrastructure.
Support and maintain fixed infrastructure such as fibre and Ethernet cabling.
Monitor infrastructure performance through the Network Operations Centre (NOC).
Ensure compliance with SLAs and system performance standards.
Collaborate with third-party service providers and internal teams for efficient operations and integration.
Respond to user and network-related support requests daily.
Develop and maintain effective documentation, including SOPs, architectural, and logical drawings for installations.
Manage small-scale network projects and infrastructure additions within area of responsibility.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric (Grade 12).
CompTIA A+ and N+ certification.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Minimum 5 years' experience in an operational role with strong Cisco administration skills.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure.
5 years in network operations management and vendor management.
Solid understanding of firewall integration with network services.
In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and routing protocols, with strong emphasis on OSPF.
