Job Description

Job Purpose
This role is responsible for overseeing the success of critical initiatives and business disciplines that drive Sales in the Group Business.
The individual in this position is the custodian of driving Retail and Commercial Fuel Sales. Given that this is the lifeblood of the business, it goes without saying that the incumbent is articulate, a good listener and strong communicator with the ability to rally colleagues around the task of meeting our sales volume target. The role has many facets which necessities effective time management skills and the ability to think and act strategically in the best of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Sales
Develop long-term strategies which involves creating plans for sustainable growth and identifying new markets or product lines.
Managing and motivating sales which includes setting sales targets, providing coaching and training, and ensuring the network has the resources it needs to succeed.
Execute monthly performance targets and agreed action plans to ensure targets is achieved.
Report site progress and recommendation to management team.
Monitor sales (fuel purchases) and manage areas where sales are declining.
Report on all external trends, including competitors, regulations, industry trends, structure and new clients.
Execute all KPIs required to achieve all business plan objectives.
Network Development
Identifying new business opportunities which involves researching market trends, analysing the competitive landscape, and spotting potential areas for growth.
Monitors and conducts field visits and research to establish competitor activity in the Northern Cape area.
Networking within industry, municipalities and tribal councils to establish profitable forthcoming development in towns.
Develop a network strategy plan to identify the highest fuel demand town/area and competitor sites to pursue and acquire.
Competitor Reporting and Analysis
Understanding our competitors in the market, to ensure we remain relevant and ahead of the game.
Devises and develops site and area specific strategies to counter any aggressive competitor activity.
Gathers information and supporting documentation to assist with the reporting.
Report monthly to the GM on competitive activities in the network
Stakeholder Relations
Manage and maintain relations with retailers and franchises in the network, along with the BCs
Develop and grow relationships with the retailers and franchisees and new potential clients
Establish customer satisfaction in respect of service standards, customer care and customer responsiveness.
Manage and cultivate existing relationships and expand recurring revenue streams.
Collaborate with colleagues and service providers to drive the values of the business
Located in Northern Cape
5 years working experience in the fuel, energy or oil Industry (Compulsory)
Compliance functionality
Marketing experience
Advance computer literacy and systems orientated
National travel required
English and Afrikaans language
