Job Description

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for an NCC Controller (ATC) based at our Head Office in Centurion, Gauteng, reporting to the ATC Control Centre Manager.


The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the NCC Controller (ATC) plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Main Responsibilities



24/7 Surveillance



Continuously monitor multiple CCTV feeds, access control systems, alarm systems (including intrusion detection, fire, and environmental alarms), and other security technologies specific to communication tower sites.

Incident Response



Promptly identify, assess, and respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, including unauthorized access attempts, intrusions, vandalism, theft, suspicious activities, and technical malfunctions at tower sites.

Emergency Coordination



Act as the primary communication hub during emergencies, coordinating responses with internal security teams, field technicians, law enforcement, fire services, and other relevant authorities.

Access Control Management



Manage and monitor access control systems for communication tower facilities, ensuring only authorized personnel gain entry. This includes remote granting and revocation of access permissions as per protocol.

Communication & Reporting



Maintain clear, concise, and accurate logs of all security activities, incidents, and responses. Generate comprehensive reports on security breaches, system failures, operational observations, and trends.

SOP Adherence



Strictly adhere to all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency protocols, and company policies related to communication tower security.

Technical Monitoring



Monitor the operational status of all security equipment, including cameras, alarms, communication systems, and access control hardware, reporting any faults or malfunctions promptly to relevant technical teams.

Inter-Departmental Liaison



Liaise effectively with network operations centres (NOCs), field technicians, maintenance staff, and other relevant departments to address security concerns and facilitate safe and secure operations at tower sites.

Threat Assessment



Continuously assess potential threats and vulnerabilities to communication tower security, escalating concerns to management as required.

Briefings & Handover



Provide detailed and accurate shift handovers to ensure continuity of security operations.

Health and Safety



Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks Report all safety incidents to the relevant people Discuss all safety incidents Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management Attend safety education and refresher programs Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace Distribute safety information as and when required

Qualification and Experience



Grade 12 / Matric Equivalent A three year Degree or National Diploma in Health and Safety or Safety Management or equivalent qualification (Advantageous) Knowledge of relevant Legislations, security regulations, standards, incident, investigations techniques, risk assessment methodologies Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office & Outlook)
