Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Technical qualification preferred)
• 25 Years experience in CNC programming or operation (laser & punching)
• Experience with Metacam or similar CAD/CAM software
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication standards and tolerances
• Strong understanding of nesting techniques, material handling, and machining limits

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and efficient CNC programs for laser and punching machines (Bystronic, Amada Laser, and Vipros)
• Interpret job cards and engineering drawings
• Verify data accuracy, nesting components, and adhere to standard operating procedures and machine limitations
• Receive and review job cards with machine allocation from the Manager
• Verify material specifications, part lists, and technical drawings for accuracy
• Communicate any discrepancies to the Manager or Drawing Office
• Program parts using CAD/CAM software for laser and CNC punching machines
• Apply correct programming techniques as per SOP guidelines
• Run simulations to validate tool paths and machine readiness
• Log material usage and offcut returns and ensure proper documentation
• Coordinate with Machine Operators to resolve programming or tooling issues
• Maintain organized program files with proper naming conventions
• Adhere to safety standards and machine-specific programming protocols
• Ensure timely completion of design tasks according to the production schedule
