Job Description



Our national client is seeking a experienced National Sales Manager to join the Port Elizabeth team


  • Oversee and manage the national sales function and activities,

  • National budgeting, forecasting, and reporting (annual and monthly)

  • Managing relationships with distributor head offices and relevant stakeholders

  • Using information and social networks to problem solve and add value throughout the supply chain

  • Manage Sales Teams to share learnings, gather and interpret market intelligence so as to deliver operational activities and agreed targets through sound sales force efficiency strategies

  • Significantly contribute to developing sales strategy and business development opportunities through having a detailed, documented understanding of the customer and distributor landscape

  • Sign-off on all product pricing against budget ensuring target volumes and contributions are maintained.

  • Actively develop Sales Teams skill set through both informal and formal training (implementation of development programmes)


Requirements

  • Grade 12

  • A commerce related degree with preference given to candidates with a MBA,

  • Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience relevant working experience

  • Scientific training in the field of agronomy and agricultural entomology will be advantageous

  • Advanced excel and data analytics skills.

  • Sound understanding of IPM principles.

  • Strong understanding of financial principles which support the sales management functions, such as forecasting & budgeting, break-even analysis, business plans etc.

  • Experience in the citrus or the fruit crop industry or working with area-wide pest management programmes will be advantageous.

  • Established professional network to promote a functional information gathering network

  • Strong understanding and familiarity with ag input (synthetic & biological) supply chain and distribution networks in South Africa will be advantageous.

  • Evidence of managing a sales team, developing and implementing sales strategies and managing retail distribution networks

  • Willing to travel locally on a frequent basis and internationally when required.
