Our client is a forward-thinking industry leader and a beacon of innovation in the lighting industry. They have a respected national presence in South Africa as well as Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Their commitment to excellence and innovation has positioned them as a key player in the market. As they continue to expand their reach, they are seeking a stand-out National Sales Executive to join their dynamic executive leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead a large sales contingent consisting of 4 Regional Sales Managers, Managers, National Co-Operative Sales Manager, National Internal Sales Manager, Project Sales Manager. These Managers have a support team of 40 internal and external sales representatives. Responsibilities:

  • Executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets on a national scale.
  • Managing and expanding relationships with key stakeholders and independent contractors across different regions.
  • Identifying new customers and markets, cultivating relationships, and executing sales strategies.
  • Utilizing in-house developed Customer Portal and PHOCAS Software to optimize sales decisions.
  • Actively acquiring new business through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
  • Analyzing market trends, identifying sales opportunities, and addressing challenges in the sales process.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to drive the growth of sales revenue, with a focus on both existing and new business opportunities.
  • Managing and controlling sales expenses for cost efficiency.
  • Overseeing and managing sales team productivity, including training and performance management.
Challenges & Opportunities:
  • Re-establishing market share in focused product areas.
  • Embedding best practice sales process and optimizing new sales structure
  • Leveraging PHOCAS Software and CRM / Customer Portal for insightful data analysis.
  • Addressing team-specific challenges in each region.
  • Focusing on effective sales leadership and management development.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven experience in a national Sales Executive capacity. NOTE: in this instance Executive refers to a senior leadership position xe2x80x93 ideally you have managed Managers!
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the lighting, hardware, paint, DIY or similar product-based industries servicing their retail, wholesale and independent customer bases.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales technology.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment.
