Job Description

Key Responsibilities



Oversee and manage all HR and Talent Management functions:



Recruitment & Selection



Learning & Development



Compensation & Benefits



Employee Relations & Industrial Relations



Performance Management



Payroll & HR Compliance



Strategic Workforce Planning



Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.



Lead and manage the HR department and ensure efficient daily operations.



Build and maintain strong partnerships with executives and line managers.



Manage union negotiations and employee grievance procedures.



Ensure accurate and timely payroll management.



Monitor, report, and advise on HR metrics, trends, and legislative changes.



Drive performance reviews, succession planning, and talent development.



Facilitate change management initiatives and organizational transformation.



Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant.



Minimum Requirements



Education:



Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations (Mandatory)



Labour Law qualification (Essential)



Payroll included in qualification (Essential)



Law/HR post-graduate qualifications (Preferred)



Experience:



Minimum of 10 years' experience in HR Management



Experience leading HR teams



Extensive union interaction and negotiation experience



Payroll management and financial acumen



Manufacturing industry experience (Essential)



Commercial trucking industry experience (Advantageous)



Stable employment history (no job hoppers)



Knowledge & Skills:



Strong knowledge of SA Labour Legislation (LRA, BCEA , EEA, SDA, MIBCO)



VIP Premier or similar payroll software



Employment Equity practices



Excellent interpersonal, communication & problem-solving skills



Computer literate (MS Office Suite)



Excellent English reading & writing skills



Strong decision-making and leadership abilities

Excellent human relations and emotional intelligence



Meticulous attention to detail



Team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines



Additional Requirements



Valid Code 8 Driver's License
