Job Description

The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of

National Coordinator in AUDA-NEPAD National Office (Selected African Union Member States).






Required Skills and Competencies




Strategy Leadership and Development at a national and regional level. Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork and integrated planning skills.

Excellent diplomacy skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships with Member States and other stakeholders.

Experience in negotiating and addressing high-stakes issues to ensure program delivery. The ability to harmonize organizational efforts and align them with national and regional priorities. Experience in building institutional capabilities to ensure high-quality program execution and knowledge sharing. The ability to create multi-stakeholder platforms for strategic collaborative efforts and foster strategic alliances. Background in financial and legal oversight to ensure the effective and accountable use of resources.

Proven ability to position organisations strategically ensures the organisation maximises its influence and impact across all levels.

Extensive experience in facilitating economic collaboration and stakeholder engagement to support developmental programmes. Experience working with quantitative and qualitative methodologies, operations research, public sector management information systems, reporting, data quality assessments, data analysis and presentation.

Extensive experience in resource mobilisation for program development. Experience in managing organisational resources and deployment in pursuit of innovative approaches and initiatives to enhance national and regional development plans.

Experience in leading and supervising a diverse team and ability to leverage limited resources and staff for maximum impact.

Expertise in identifying and adapting best practices to specific strategic contexts.

Experience in working with international organisations, preferably in Africa.

Ability to always maintain confidentiality at the highest level.

High level of expertise in integrating monitoring and evaluation results into knowledge co-creation.

High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment and energy.

Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions

Strong ability to manage teams; creating an enabling environment, mentoring and developing staff.

Demonstrated substantive leadership and ability to integrate knowledge with broader strategic, policy and operational objectives

Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAP ERP) are essential.




Education and Experience

:



A Master's Degree in Diplomacy, Public Policy, International Law, Public Law, Business Administration, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Economics or a related field. Candidates should have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience in a Pan-African, Development/Multilateral Organisation in public sector institutions or similar organisations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.


Candidates should have experience in:


Develop and implement strategic national development programs aligned with regional and continental priorities, including Agenda 2063. Prepare, manage, and conduct comprehensive monitoring and impact evaluations using advanced research methodologies and data-driven approaches across public sector organisations, regional institutions, and civil society. Lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments, ensuring strategic alignment and effective program execution. Represent the organisation in high-level engagements with governments, advocating for key priorities and fostering collaborative partnerships at the national, regional, and international levels.





Or




A Bachelor's degree in Diplomacy, Public Policy, International Law, Public Law, Business Administration, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Economics or any other related field. Candidates should have twelve (12) years of relevant work experience in a Pan-African Development/Multilateral Organisation, of which five (5) years are at a managerial level in public sector institutions or similar organisations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.


Candidates should have experience in:


Develop and implement strategic national development programs aligned with regional and continental priorities, including Agenda 2063. Prepare, manage, and conduct comprehensive monitoring and impact evaluations using advanced research methodologies and data-driven approaches across public sector organisations, regional institutions, and civil society. Lead diverse, multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments, ensuring strategic alignment and effective program execution. Represent the organisation in high-level engagements with governments, advocating for key priorities and fostering collaborative partnerships at the national, regional, and international levels.

Remuneration:
