• Conducting Research in Pig Nutrition and Production
• Assist in the Insect Rearing Facility: managing and optimizing our yellow mealworm rearing facility to ensure a consistent supply for experiments.
• Design and conduct pig feeding trials to evaluate the effects of incorporating yellow mealworm meal or alternative feedstuffs (grapeseed) on pig growth performance, and pork product quality.
• Collection and processing of alternative feedstuffs (grapeseed) evaluate various preservation methods on the nutritional composition quality, safety and shelf life of mealworm products and or feedstuffs (grapeseed).
• Collects, captures, and processes data,
• Disseminates technology through seminar presentations internal and external.
• Compliance with human resource policies and procedures.
• Compile and submission of work reports to supervisor.

• BSc/ post graduate degree/ Honours degree (or equivalent) in Animal Science or Animal Production.
• Required to register for master's studies in Agricultural Sciences or a related field after appointment.
• Basic knowledge of pig production is advantageous
• Practical experience in pig production will be an added advantage
• Ability to work with other students,
• Good communication skills (written and verbal),
• Registration with a relevant scientific registration body will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in the MS Office suite
