Job Description


Job Responsibilities:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

  • Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
  • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
  • Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
  • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
PEOPLE:

Supervise the team:
  • Ensure an enabling climate/culture
  • Manage performance against set targets and competencies
  • Ensure IDPxe2x80x99s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
  • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
  • Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
  • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels xe2x80xa2 Conduct recruitment interviews
  • Engage with production and service department employees on all mine planning and scheduling matters.
CUSTOMERS:
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance to MHSD is adhered to and maintained
BUSINESS PROCESSES:

Mine Planning:
  • Administration of planning calendar, protocols, and meetings for the mine
  • Adherence to and effective application of mining platforms and mine planning software
  • Development and construction of monthly mine plans consistent with the achievement of the mine production and budgets targets
  • Collect integrated geological and technical data necessary to conduct effective monthly mine designs and schedules for the mine
  • Update monthly mine designs in AutoCAD
  • Update monthly schedules
  • Update designs and schedules on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Mine plans to be aligned with the minexe2x80x99s drive towards zero harm, technical services and Corporate Strategy as well as legal requirements
  • Application and utilisation of standard mine planning techniques and practices (Conventional and Mechanised)
  • Conduct monthly construction planning
  • Monitor adherence to mine plans and designs
  • Mine plans to be relevant, consistence and accurate in respect of the ore body characteristics, mining method and operational requirements.
  • Mine plans and designs to be reviewed regularly in order to optimise and maximise the mining throughputs
  • Apply activity scheduling and compile production profiles
  • Update mine schedules in line with changes in production targets
  • Proactively identify production target compromising conditions, detailing the impact of those as input into managerial decision-making and problem solving
  • Prepare plans required for planning review and presentations
  • Planning non-compliances or irregularities to be escalated for action
  • Pre-planning and monthly planning meeting attendance
  • Reporting of mine design and scheduling information in planning software.
  • Develop L.O.M Plans
Daily Production Management System:
  • Conduct the monthly workplace setup
  • Responsible for ensuring the logging of daily bookings
  • Responsible for Syncromine report generation
  • Daily production meeting attendance
  • Assist mine overseers with weekly planning schedules.
GROWTH:
  • Manage continuous improvement through Operational Excellence
SHAREHOLDER VALUE:
  • Develop, schedule and update L.O.M Plans
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Grade 12/N3
  • Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or Survey / Mineral Resources Management or Chamber of Mines Advanced Survey and Advanced Valuation Certificates
  • Must have years of experience in underground or opencast mining environment
Additional Qualifications:
