Job Description

A reputable chemical company based in Kempton Park has a challenging but exiting vacancy for a suitably qualified Group Reporting Manager reporting to the Finance Director.
Purpose of the job
The Group Reporting Manager is responsible to provide a professional accounting service to designated business units enabling cost effective financial planning and control within company. To provide accounting support for accurate accounting treatment and compliance to IFRS. Extract and analyse information for the monthly/ quarterly financial reports, ensure a successful audit process and provide support to the Finance Business Partner.
The incumbent will ensure that systems, policies, processes, and procedures are in place with regard to all aspects relating to the reporting function.  The incumbent will ensure that these are maintained to pro-actively and effectively identify and manage risk within the company.
Experience
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience working in finance
SAP experience
Finnivo (Reporting system) experience would be beneficial
Qualifications:
Matric
Finance Degree
CA (SA) or CIMA qualification
Technical Competencies
Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Self-motivated
Attention to detail
Able to work under pressure
Good technical understanding of finance and reporting requirements
Key performance area
Support Line Manager in facilitating financial planning and reporting of the business unit
Coordinate and consolidate the business unit’s financial results
Provide input into the consolidated budget for the business unit
Coordinate the management of budgetary process for business units and cost centres
Monitor the budgeting process from start to finish in order to ensure that all the internal deadlines are adhered to
Provide a financial consulting and controllership service for the business unit
Maintain reporting in line with accounting principles
Attend to statutory matters (Annual Financial Statements and Taxation)
Recommend and implement reporting changes according to accounting requirements
Facilitate financial planning and reporting of all other business units
Facilitate financial planning and reporting of all other business units
Provide financial advice and consulting
Receive a request for advice/consultation and to determine the nature and extent of the advice/consultation to be provided
Identify advice/consultation opportunities during the execution of outputs e.g.
Possible problems
Pro-active identification of problem areas
Advice on financial control and processes
Financial studies e.g., Feasibility studies
Determine the outcomes of the advisory/consultation process in collaboration with the requestor’s needs to ensure customer services
Identify the information or resolution required by the relevant role players
Agree to the time frames for execution of advice/consultation actions
Conduct the appropriate research to obtain the necessary information required
Escalate the problem to the relevant role players for resolution and monitor to ensure that advice/consultation is provided within the allocated time frames
Conduct meetings with the appropriate role players or regulatory bodies to ensure that all relevant information is supplied
Compile a preliminary report reflecting:
  o recommendations
  o risks
  o organisational position
Set up a meeting with the requestor and associated role players to discuss recommendations and findings
Set up action plans in collaboration with the requestor and associate role players to implement the required actions
Provide expect advice/consultation to ensure compliance to the legal framework
Compile a final recommendation report for the implementation of actions and its requirements
Assist the appropriate parties with the implementation of the required actions
Monitor the implemented actions to ensure correct execution and legal compliance
Archive the final report for future reference purposes in accordance with the documentation management system requirements
Provide advice/consultation in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements
Complete advice/consultation actions within the allocated time frame
Conclude month-end procedures
Conduct assessment of financial information
Allocate/reallocate costs/transactions

Personal Circumstances:
Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre
Salary:  R800K basic salary per annum negotiable depending on experience.
