. As a
Trainee Technician
, you will embark on a structured training program that will equip you with the skills to become a fully-fledged
Field Service Technician
in the fast-paced
Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
industry.
This is a full-time position available at our
Paarl
, Durban (
DBN
), or Johannesburg (
JHB
) offices.
What You Will Do
The successful candidate will be trained to become a technician, ultimately responsible for all technical aspects of maintaining, installing, and servicing high-tech industrial coding and labelling equipment. This equipment is crucial for applying batch and date codes onto essential FMCG goods and related production machinery.
Your training will cover and is not limited to:
Preventive and corrective maintenance
on complex electro-mechanical equipment.
New equipment installation
and commissioning at client sites.
Fault-finding and technical support
to minimise production downtime for our FMCG clients.
Understanding the critical role of coding and marking in
product traceability and quality control.
What are we looking for
We are seeking practical, capable, self-motivated, and energetic candidates who have a strong willingness to learn.
Mandatory Requirements:
Minimum N3 or Grade 12 (Technical Matric would be an advantage)
.
Driver's license is essential
--this is a field service role requiring travel.
Technical background with an affinity for electronics
and strong mechanical aptitude; we provide full training.
Ability to work
after hours when required
for emergency callouts.
Willing to travel
locally, nationally and internationally.
Skills and Attributes:
Excellent
problem-solving skills
: the ability to diagnose and fix complex equipment issues.
Good communication skills
(both written and spoken) for clear interaction with clients and internal teams.
Computer literate
with a good understanding of MS Word, Excel and Gmail.
IT Skills
: Install/connect hardware devices, set up of basic network, understand network connections and how to perform fault-finding and troubleshooting.
