Mining Manager
Job Description
Essence of the job:
To manage the execution of the required work within the project schedules and contractual agreements, ensuring technical excellence and effective coordination of the respective staff within the project team. Plan, direct, coordinate, or budget, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with bulk earthworks (including drill and blast) in accordance with the mining plan. Participate in the conceptual development of an Opencast Mining project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.
Qualification:
Degree/ National Diploma - Mining Engineering.
Opencast Blasting Certificate.
Mining Managers Certificate.
Mine Overseer Certificate.
Minimum Requirements:
At least fifteen years' mining supervisory experience in an opencast mining environment of which at least five years must be at Senior Management level.
Knowledge of Xpac / Surpac will be an advantage.
Vast knowledge of an Open Cast Mining Operation.
Vast knowledge of Loading & Hauling procedures, laws, regulations and blast management.
Solid knowledge of IR Procedures.
Strong computer literacy in the following: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, blast design software.
Planning and Organizing.
Effective resource management.
