Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Mine Overseer to be placed in Bakubung Mine ,near Rustenburg,North West. The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.Job descriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:xc2xb7 Supervise and lead underground crews to achieve production and quality targets to project scopexc2xb7 Effective control, planning and organising for safe achievement of production targets in line with contractual requirementsEffective Mining operational management (all aspects, ventilation and service extensions, the lining operation, mark, drill and blast cycle)xc2xb7 Accurate, timely, relevant reporting and administration in line with legal appointmentxc2xb7 Effective risk management and compliance with MHSA, SHEQ, M&RC and client requirementsxc2xb7 Effective self and team management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiativesxc2xb7 Ensuring the safety of all employees under his/her controlxc2xb7 Enforce and monitor all risk assessment processes and liaise with safety departmentxc2xb7 Be responsible for environmental and housekeeping standardsxc2xb7 Be willing to assist in developing new methods of sinking to enhance safety, productivities and efficienciesAchieving operational targets and comply with legal regulations of DMR, Client andMinimum requirementsSuitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:xc2xb7 Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalentxc2xb7 Mine Overseers' Certificate of Competency (Fiery Mines)xc2xb7 Blasting Certificate (Fiery Mines), and Strata 3 Certificatexc2xb7 Relevant Gas Testingxc2xb7 Valid EB Driver's Licencexc2xb7 Valid First Aid certificate (If not available, obtain on on-boarding)xc2xb7 MS Office Proficient (Word and Excel)xc2xb7 Excellent planning, organising, leading and controlling skillsxc2xb7 Proficiency in English both verbal and writtenSuitable candidates must have the following work experience:xc2xb7 Minimum 5 years of experience from obtaining a Mine Oversee Certificatexc2xb7 5 years' experience acting as a Mine Overseerxc2xb7 Experience in managing the work of subcontractors in a mining/underground environmentxc2xb7 Experience in shaft sinking, silo lining, and Drop Raisexc2xb7 Experience working with unstable ground conditions and experience in long anchors, wet Crete and concrete work)xc2xb7 Experience in civil workxc2xb7 Extensive knowledge and understanding of mining operationsxc2xb7 Sound knowledge of explosivesAll appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.Disclaimer * The Recruiter may amend, delete or expire jobs at any time without notification.
