Mine Manager (On site) - Cape Townole: Mine ManagerExperience/Work Type: Senior LevelIndustry: Mining (Vanadium Titano-Magnetite)Location: Limpopo, South AfricaCompany Description:Our Company operates in the vanadium titanomagnetite mining market, where we mine and sell ores a variety of local and international clients, which is further processed and extracted through rotary kiln and electric furnace processes. The mine has the highest vanadium grade in its raw ore, is a world-class mega-mine.Duties and Responsibilities:xc2xb7 Assist the CEO in developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve operational goals and targets;xc2xb7 Oversee the day-to-day management of mining operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements;xc2xb7 Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors and teams, fostering a positive work culture and prioritizing employee health and safety;xc2xb7 Collaborate with various departments to optimize operational efficiency and productivity, including production, maintenance, logistics, and administration;xc2xb7 Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve targets and objectives.xc2xb7 Coordinate and review mining plans, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies;xc2xb7 Develop and implement workforce training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, focusing on safety, productivity, and environmental sustainability;xc2xb7 Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, providing input on operational costs and resource allocation;xc2xb7 Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess mine operations, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with mining and safety standards;xc2xb7 Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and legislative changes to drive innovation in mining practices and procedures;xc2xb7 Development of innovative solutions and continuous improvement to increase operational efficiency and minimise costs;xc2xb7 Liaise between the Company and the Mining teams to develop and implement plans and to optimize extraction, material movement and grade management; andxc2xb7 Optimize mine operating and management standards and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and productive mining operations and the delivery of benchmark performance.This role is in the Mining department and reporting to the Board and CEO on daily basis.Qualification:Required:Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or relevant field.xc2xb7 Mine Managerxe2x80x99s Certificate of Competency (essential)xc2xb7 Master Degree (advantageous)xc2xb7 Clean criminal and Credit record (will be verified)Valid driverxe2x80x99s LicenseKnowledge, Skills and Experience:xc2xb7 10-15 years of experience in Operational/ Site Manager, managing more than one unit in the Minexc2xb7 At least 6 years in a Mine Managerxe2x80x99s capacityxc2xb7 8 yearsxe2x80x99 operational experience in mining vanadium titanomagnetite oresxc2xb7 Background in Mine Planning will be an advantagexc2xb7 Strong knowledge in production and supply chain managementxc2xb7 Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing skillsxc2xb7 Proven ability to present complex information in easy-to-understand termsxc2xb7 Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skillsxc2xb7 Understanding of SAP and FSCC will be an advantagexc2xb7 Medically fit to work and managing in the Minexc2xb7 Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and regulatory requirements in South AfricaHow to Apply:To apply for this role, please send your CV, cover letter and other relevant documentation to our email Brian.T@intles.co.uk.
