The incumbent must implement and advise on the legal requirements as dictated by the Act and ensure sound relationships with employees and all other stakeholders Mine wide.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Grade 12Mechanical/Electrical Engineering QualificationDMR GCC4-5 Years experienceCertified as an engineer by (SACEA)ADVANTAGEOUS:Underground Fiery Mines ExperienceFamiliar with low seam mining environmentCOMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Risk awarenessKnowledge of health and safety regulationsTechnical knowledgeCommunication skillsPlanning skillsManagement skillsPOSITION OUTPUTS:Responsible for the day-to-day engineering management and operation of the colliery.Ensure as far as reasonably practicable that the mine is operated and maintained.Ensure that employees can perform their duties without endangering the health and safety of themselves or any other person.Establish and maintain a Health and Safety policy, Codes of practice, Risk assessments and safety training.Ensure compliance to Minerals act and Regulations.Ensure compliance to directives from DMRE as may be issued from time to time.Ensure findings from risk assessments are implemented.Ensure safe installation, maintenance and operation of machinery and equipment.Take all reasonable measures to ensure that safety and protection devices are installed and properly maintained.Lead team to optimise performance with regard to production output.Regularly liaise with contractors to ensure understanding of requirements and performance.Lead team to optimise performance with regard to financial discipline.Ensure proper commercial principles are followed during procurement and contract processes.Do proper analyses for medium to large projects.Job Type: Full-timeAbility to Commute:Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal (Required)Ability to Relocate:Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal: Relocate before starting work (Required)
