Job Summary Qualifications:

• A minimum qualification is Grade 10 with a technical qualification in either fitting & turner or heavy current electricity.
• Minimum of 5-10 years' experience or served a full apprenticeship.
• Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognisant of safety risks
• Mechanical aptitude to find solutions to machining equipment that don't have off-the-shelf spares available.
• Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to allow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
• Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues
• Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others.
• Must be part of our First Aid team.
• Passing a medical check is compulsory

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain, and repair foundry machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose equipment faults and troubleshoot in the foundry plant and equipment as and when instructed by the client's authorised personnel, namely maintenance superintendent or manager or director, and or IMS Management.
• Assemble, install and test machines & maintain OE standards.
• Managing equipment by ensuring daily checks are completed & documented to ensure minimum downtime. Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts. All repairs must be maintained per OE standards unless authorised in writing by Senior Management.
• Dismantling of mechanical & electrical equipment as and when requested.
• Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts. Must have Rigging experience and/or qualification.
• Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
• Diagnose & repair faulty machinery
• Set up, test, and maintain new machinery
• Quality Audit on machinery and make recommendations/improvements
• Carry out preventative maintenance during plant shutdown (usually annually or as and when required by the client)
• Any ad hoc requests from the client within the scope of work
• Administration: must ensure all job cards are completed accurately
• Health and Safety: Must always adhere to ALL safety standards. Ensure all PPE is always worn in the plant. If any damage to PPE or equipment it must be reported immediately to the Plant Superintendent
