JOB SUMMARY AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Millwright Technician is responsible for providing high quality on-site technical expertise and service to customers in respect of the repair and/or servicing of poultry and piggery products/equipment. The function includes but is not limited to the following:

• Attending to the repair and servicing of poultry and piggery products/equipment including but not limited to fault finding, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical faults.
• Attending to the installation of poultry and piggery products/equipment in compliance with customer requirements.
• Attending to the installation of electrical wiring, distribution board or any other type of electrical wiring or mechanical equipment as may be required.
• Attending to the programming of poultry and piggery products/equipment.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Resolve technical and procedural problems.
• Regular customer field visits to inspect installed poultry and piggery products/equipment.
• Provide customer support during field visits.
• Customer service including resolving customer queries and concerns.
• Attending to callouts and breakdowns, including after hour callouts and breakdowns, in order to identify and resolve problems.
• Assisting the Service Controller and Installation Teams with commissioning projects.
• Completing job cards and attending to general maintenance.
• Assisting with stock taking if necessary.
• Oversee ongoing projects.
• Making ad hoc deliveries of stock as and when required.
• Produce timely and detailed service/installation reports. Maintain technical and operational documentation.
• Stays current with technological developments relating to poultry and piggery products/equipment.
• Training and mentoring millwright and electrical apprentices to ensure they meet their qualification requirements.

LOCATION
Pomona, Kempton Park and any such other locations or destinations as determined by the Employer from time to time.

• Reports to: Service Controller.
• Manages: Not Applicable.

SKILLS & REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Qualified millwright with trade test red seal certificate.

• Computer literate in Widows, MS Office as well as any other software owned or used by the Employer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong technical ability.
• Educational level: Matric Certificate and a Diploma or Higher Diploma (electrical and/or mechanical) and/or another relevant qualification.
• Qualified millwright (RED SEAL), through recognized accreditation entity. - TRADE TESTED MILLWRIGHT
• Relevant technical experience relating to the installation, repair and/or servicing of products/equipment in the poultry and piggery industries.
• Relevant experience with and technical knowledge of Skov, CODAF and company's products and/or any other products supplied to customers by the Employer.
• Operation practices and procedures, including Health and Safety protocols and requirements

REMUNERATION
Basic: Negotiable
