The main purpose is to set up machinery based on highly technical instructions and blueprints and occasionally move machines to different locations, as well as to make sure that all machines operate properly, and our facilities remain safe. You will also make use of specialized tools to build and repair machines as well as be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Trade Test (Millwright)
Proficiency with multiple manufacturers' automation hardware and software
Experience in CNC programming machine would be highly beneficial
Grade 12 or technical Matric.
5 - 10 years' relevant post trade experience as a Millwright
Experience in Supervision
Experience in the manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial
Ability to work in a plant environment for extended periods of time (high temperature/high humidity environment)
Ability to work weekends and public holidays

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the maintenance of specialized machines
Work in a team and ensure the complete functioning of all machinery
Proficiency with multiple manufacturers of automation hardware and software
Strong knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing processes
Assisting with an accurate bill of materials.
Ensure suppliers compliances to high standard of parts needed
Get necessary quotes for all spare parts of machines or newly designed parts as per drawings
Get quotes for contractors to assist with manufacturing specialized parts and to ensure the quality is of a high standard
Maintain and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety and availability to complete work within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits
Ensure that components causing excessive downtime are identified and permanent solutions are found and implemented
Perform Condition Based Maintenance on equipment
Be responsible for the diagnosis, testing and repair of electrical and mechanical failures on equipment
Interpret electrical and mechanical circuit diagrams
Inform the Supervisor of any additional defects as well as spare parts and time needed to complete the work
Ensure that all equipment is maintained through utilising the right tools, work instruments and within safety regulations
Be responsible for ensuring equipment/machinery is tested for functionality and safety before being returned to production
Assemble of parts as per drawings
Assembling of machines
Testing all relevant machine parts before final assembling
Stock take review to ensure right components and quantities are available
Check maintenance/manufacturing stock usages
Improve up time by analysing breakdowns
Daily Preventative Maintenance planning on all machines
Replace worn and damaged parts on equipment
On call and standby for major and minor equipment failures
Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly equipment inspections, checking mechanical, electrical operations, etc.
Checking and noting all plant and building equipment for worn or damaged parts
Fabrication and installation of various equipment and safety guards
Source outside contractors for any unscheduled maintenance
General housekeeping and ensure OHS Act compliance
