Job Description
Our large food manufacturing client, situated in the North of Durban, has a vacancy for an experienced Millwright to carry out work required for installation, maintenance and repair of all assets, equipment, and utilities on site.
Essential requirements:
- Must be qualified as a Millwright.
- N3 to N6 with matric.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in a production FMCG environment with high speed packaging machines.
- Experience in scheduled & preventative maintenance, condition monitoring & equipment performance evaluation.
- Carry out all instructions for the day-to-day tasks of maintenance required on the operational plant.
- Ensure company ISO, Environmental, Health and safety procedures are fully complied with in all maintenance activities.
- Setting up of machinery
- Sound mechanical, electrical & electronic diagnostics & trouble shooting.
- Repairs & reconditioning of equipment, critical spares identification & purchasing
- Continuous improvement applying new technology, ensuring equipment availability & optimal recovery of breakdowns
- Must have in-depth knowledge of hydraulics, belt systems, motors, and other industrial machine mechanisms essential for job procedures
- Provide technical and specialist support to the maintenance and production team
- Assume standby duties
- Must be able to make decisions, troubleshoot, and perform repairs with little to no supervision. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team, be able to work shifts and have own transport
