Production Technician, Manufacturing/Extrusion - Cape Town

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Production Technician to join our Extrusion team.

This role is ideal for a qualified Millwright or equivalent tradesperson with strong mechanical and electrical competencies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and optimizing extrusion machinery and auxiliary equipment, ensuring smooth production flow and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and operate extrusion lines & auxiliary equipment Mechanical & Electrical Troubleshooting, on production equipment Maintenance & repairs on equipment Conduct routine and preventative maintenance Meet output and quality targets Monitor production data using ERP systems Optimise efficiency, safety, and product quality Ensure compliance to safety protocols and SOP's

Qualifications & Experience

Qualified Millwright or equivalent technical certification 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing or extrusion environment Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills Hands-on experience with auxiliary equipment setup and optimization Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Oracle) Lean manufacturing principles Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
