Position: Foundry Millwright (permanent)

Reports to: Plant Engineer

Area: Gauteng (Johannesburg South)

Industry: Manufacturing

Salary: R29 600 to R32 000 per month (Company contributions 11% towards pension fund/provident and 50% on medical aid)

Purpose of the job

One of the leaders in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Millwright who will be responsible for maintenance on machines in the Foundry.

Minimum qualifications and requirements

Millwright trade qualification (Red Seal) 3 years in a heavy-duty Industrial manufacturing environment 5 years as a Millwright Foundry Experience
Duties and responsibilities

Maintain production machinery by replacing equipment such as: control relays, contractors, isolators, limit switches, electric fans and electric conveyor rollers by fitting and aligning shafts, keyways, sprockets, wheels, lifting equipment, bearings, pulley's, clutches, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, control valves, etc. Ensure the safe running of the plant by doing fault finding on all machinery and prevention of electrical hazards such as loose motor cables, damaged electrical push buttons, as well as mechanical hazards i.e. lubrication/hydraulic oil on factory floor, damaged safety fences or gates, factory compressed air and water pipes Complete jobs according to priority and planned maintenance work schedule Acquire the knowledge to repair air compressors/driers and cooling towers Use knowledge and experience to read and interpret electrical - mechanical pneumatic/hydraulic drawings Use knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic circuits and PLCs to complete tasks in the factory Respond to call outs and breakdowns Ensure daily job/time sheets are submitted complete and timeously Maintain open communication with supervisors and rest of maintenance team by giving regular feedback on progress of daily tasks Assist other artisans when necessary to ensure timeous completion of tasks Always adhere to health and safety regulations by exercising caution when working and using equipment
