Lula is hiring a talented Motion Designer and Video Editor to be a core member of our brand team. This position will help drive our video-first content strategy, taking ownership of projects from initial storyboard and concept through to final execution. You'll create compelling content for all our channels, from Google Display Ads and social animations to TV commercials and digital OOH billboards, reporting directly to the Creative Lead.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with fellow Art Directors, UX designers and Copywriters to conceptulise, storyboard and execute content that positions Lula as a best-in-class fintech brand.
Maintain a keen eye for typography and layout hierarchy to develop fresh, innovative, and visually appealing designs.
Interrogate briefs for opportunities to elevate the brand and work proactively with the team to develop distinctive, bold campaigns , while ensuring brand consistency
Determine how best to represent a concept visually and submit to the Brand Director and stakeholders for approval.
Create visually appealing 2D motion graphics for various platforms, including social media, websites, and marketing materials.
Develop animations, transitions, and visual effects to enhance user engagement and convey messages effectively.
Storyboarding is essential to this role
Able to present creative solutions
Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualise and execute design projects from start to finish.
Utilise graphic design skills to create static visual assets such as illustrations, icons, and layouts when needed.
Edit and integrate motion graphics into video content to create cohesive and engaging visuals.
Stay updated on industry trends and tools to continuously improve design quality and innovation.
Edit video content for social media, websites and marketing materials
Up-to-date knowledge of latest social media trends and best practices.
Work closely with a traffic manager to ensure that projects are completed according to deadlines.
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Matric/ Grade 12 certificate
A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Design, Art Direction, Marketing, or a related field from a reputable institution is advantageous.
5+ years of professional experience in Motion Design and Video Editing.
An exceptional portfolio showcasing a range of 2D motion graphics, video editing, and graphic design work is essential (please include a link on your CV or application).
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and DaVinci Resolve.
Proficiency in 2D animation software such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, or similar programs.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro,After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of all digital and above-the-line communication channel requirements and best practices.
Ability to create compelling visual storytelling through motion graphics, animations, and video editing.
Proven problem-solving attitude and the ability to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage and prioritise multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
