MFC Engineering Manager - MiddelburgPURPOSE OF THE JOBTo lead the Engineering Team in the safe and cost-effective execution of the Asset Management, including Maintenance Management and Life Cycle Management, through clearly defined strategies and objectives for maintenance of plant, equipment & facilities for the site.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESSAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, RISK, QUALITY AND COMMUNITYIdentify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the ToolboxUtilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ statusAdhere to all related SOPxe2x80x99s, PTOxe2x80x99s, and CTOxe2x80x99s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and company standards5S ManagementPEOPLEManage the Department:Ensure an enabling climate/cultureManage labour stability by minimising labour turnover:Labour complement in line with budgetAchieve HDSA/Female targets for the DepartmentManage performance against set targets and competencies:Ensure IDPxe2x80x99s are linked to performance results and implemented as per planConduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levelsConduct recruitment interviewsCUSTOMERSJointly define deliverables with site production personnelPut systems and controls in place that will ensure that the site is maintained:at specified performance and within prescribed technical & legal requirementsthat will permit a safe and environmentally acceptable operation, andto meet the required production-rated capacity at minimum life cycle costsBUSINESS PROCESSESDocument and review the overall maintenance strategy on an annual basis to ensure that it is aligned with the business planEnsure strict adherence to maintenance work management principles (percent planned work, adherence to schedule, number of breakdowns, number of proactive requests) to obtain maximum plant availability at minimum maintenance cost per unit producedManage the Engineering Assets to ensure that they produce at their designed capacity and are periodically refurbished to their original condition to ensure optimal lifeEnsure strict adherence to the relevant engineering standards and specificationsPeriodically audit the asset and documentation to obtain maximum standardisation of spares and new plant installations on the siteProject Manager for large capital-intensive projectsImplement appropriate maintenance strategies for the plantPlan and implement small to medium capital and continuous improvement projectsDevelop and maintain systems to comply to all statutory requirementsBuild a competent team to maintain the plant and improve equipment reliabilityContribute and participate in group and industry technical forumsPerform Management StandbyGROWTHManage Continuous Improvement through Operational ExcellenceFoster a climate of Continuous ImprovementDevelop the capability of the maintenance organisation site-wideSHAREHOLDER VALUEManage the Departmental budget & spend MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCEMechanical or Electrical B.Eng./ BSc. (Eng.)
