PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To be the continuous improvement driver and metallurgical accounting custodian for Metallurgical Plant through reporting on and analysing Metallurgical and Production performance and implementing projects in a safe manner.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox
• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
• Investigate quality deviations and ensure that corrective action is taken timeously.

CUSTOMERS:
Process Quality:

• Ensure production and dispatch quality is in line with Customer specifications
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Key customers: Logistics.

BUSINESS PROCESSES:
Process Reliability:

• Achieve process quality
• Develop and update the Process Strategy in order to optimise throughput and recovery.

Process Management:

• Collect, analyse and interpret process data and make recommendations
• Support the Metallurgical Superintendent in the implementation of recommendations.
• Ensure the integrity of Metallurgical inputs into MES and BU reporting.

Project Management:

• Manage improvement and development projects.

GROWTH:

• Implement Continuous Improvement projects.

SHAREHOLDER VALUE:

• Monitor and control costs.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• BSC / BTech degree / NHD in Metallurgy Engineering / Chemical Engineering
• Chrome processing experience

Knowledge:

• Report Writing
• Technical Presentations.

Experience:

• 4 years' experience (at least 2 years production and an additional 2 years' supervisory experience)
• Previous experience as Process Engineer or Applications Engineer with a chrome process technology company will be highly advantageous
