SUMMARY:A Specialist in Mineral Processing Solutions, which is based in the North-West province, within Klerksdorp is recruiting for an experienced and skilled Metallurgical Test Laboratory Manager to oversee day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure accurate and timely results, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environmentPOSITION INFO:
Technical knowledge and experience

• The successful incumbent must possess at least ten (10) or more yearsxe2x80x99 experience operating in an analytical or metallurgical laboratory environment as well as five (5) yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a management or supervisory role
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Knowledge of metallurgical test work procedures, specifically within the physical separation field is an advantage
• Must have a good working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025.
• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in science or related field is an advantage

Special conditions

• Relocation to Klerksdorp is essential
• The successful incumbent must be willing to travel and to work outside of South African borders for prolonged periods of time
• The successful incumbent should have a valid passport

Responsibilities
The candidate will oversee the operating and functioning of a lab that serves as a pilot-scale equipment testing facility to optimize according to the client's specifications1. Sample Preparation and Documentation

• Oversee accurate preparation of test samples, ensuring appropriate handling, labelling, and documentation throughout all stages of testing.
• Maintain thorough records for all samples tested, documenting origin, testing procedures employed, and storage of samples post-testing and senior management.

2. Implementation of ISO Standards

• Ensure laboratory compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards, including documentation, audit preparation, and continuous quality improvement.
• Implement and maintain ISO 14001 standards, ensuring environmental management practices within the laboratory align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

3. Report Writing and Data Analysis

• Prepare detailed technical reports on laboratory findings, clearly communicating test results, methodologies, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Document procedures and processes clearly and accurately to support transparency, traceability, and reproducibility of tests.

4. Client Support and Problem Solving

• Actively engage with clients to understand their requirements, address their concerns, and provide clear guidance and problem-solving support based on laboratory findings.
• Investigate and troubleshoot process-related issues raised by clients, recommending corrective actions based on analytical results and metallurgical expertise.

5. Laboratory Maintenance and Safety

• Ensure a consistently clean, organised, and professional laboratory environment, maintaining safety standards, good housekeeping practices, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
