Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Merchandising Demand Planner to join our team. This role is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, managing vendor performance, and ensuring product availability to support company growth and inventory goals. You will act as the critical link between sales, operations, and vendors, ensuring seamless alignment between demand planning and supplier execution.
Key Responsibilities

• Forecasting & Demand Planning

• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activity to develop accurate demand forecasts across product categories.

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to align on forecast inputs and assumptions.

• Maintain forecast accuracy KPIs and continuously improve processes.

• Vendor Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers.

• Monitor changes to pricing and tariffs

• Execute purchases to optimize warehouse space and minimize transportation costs

• Inventory & Supply Planning

• Work with merchandising to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize stockouts and overstocks.

• Proactively identify supply risks and recommend mitigation plans.

• Coordinate with vendors to prioritize production and shipping during peak seasons or high-demand periods.

• Reporting & Analysis

• Provide regular reporting on forecast accuracy, vendor performance, and inventory health.

• Identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

• Develop S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes with data-driven insights.

• Experience in demand planning, supply chain, or vendor management.

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and forecasting tools.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective vendor coordination.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing preferred.
