Job Description


Purpose of the JobProvide analytics that supports & informs decision making and is aligned with the achievement of the strategic goals through creating, managing, evaluating, investigating and analyzing data queries relating to category management, optimizing data & frameworks within which the category.

What you've done beforeBaseline:
NQF Level 6 (Diploma in Analytics/Sciences/Technology)
5 years' experience in Data Analytics (within the Retail environment)
Knowledge of Regional Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Occupational Health
& Safety Act.
Advantageous:
BSc Mathematics/ Stats/ Data Science/ BI
3 years' experience Advanced Analytics in a Specialist role within Food Retailing
Experience on Qlikview/ SQL/ Programming

  • Undertake multiple data sources that will deliver actionable insights and recommendations to the merchandising and category teams.
  • Perform accurate data analysis in support of informed decision making within the categories and with a view to improve profits and customer satisfaction indicators across the NFR business.
  • Service ad-hoc requests for information within the required timeframe and specification, with a focus on translating ad-hoc solutions into effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Integrate customer insights data with assortment & space data to provide further.
  • understanding on customer behaviours in order to assist & inform the category management decision making process.
  • Ensure timeous and accurate production of reports through analysis of trends and interpretation, with special emphasis on customer behavior & insights and on space optimisation.
  • Ensure understanding of defined data standards and clearly execute the range of acceptable values and attributes for data.
  • Ensure that business requirements of the end user are properly aligned to agreed data.
  • Governance standards, definitions & calculations, criteria and business processes & standards.
  • Adhere to formal established processes and take responsibility for leading and supporting the greater business data standards and efforts.
  • Collaborate with other data stewards to resolve issues related to standards and definitions for data elements that cross domains.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to assist with analytics within areas such as impact analysis (stock write-downs & reviews), capacity reports & post implementation.
  • Reviews and macro analysis and returns/ performance to ensure effective decision making.
  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to focus on continuous improvement of information in terms of relevance, quality and speed of delivery.
  • Ensure data accuracy through monitoring data completeness, integrity and quality to ensure availability of correct information at all times.
  • Ensure compliance to data governance through data cleansing & provision of feedback and taking ownership of data management.
