THINK is recruiting for a Mental Health Technical Lead, they will be pivotal in planning, implementing, and overseeing collaborative initiatives to address the intersection of mental health within THINK. They will provide technical expertise, guide organisation strategy, and ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health integrated services. This position involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organisations.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Head of the Department in crafting and refining the organisational strategies related to mental health while ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals.
  • Lead the development of project plans, strategies, and objectives in alignment with the organisation's vision, project goals and donor requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and managerial oversight in the technical implementation of project and organisational strategy in alignment with the project's objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Offer expertise on mental health, including evidence-based interventions and best practices.
  • Provide technical support to sub-partners and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development of training materials and ensure their effective delivery to staff and partners.
  • Supervise project staff, streamlining the efficient and effective delivery of mental health services while ensuring consistency with the broader organisational ethos and protocols.
  • Closely monitor project evolution, swiftly identifying challenges and proactively addressing issues to keep the project on track.
  • Design, review, and adjust annual work plans to keep pace with the dynamic needs of both the project and the organisation.
  • Work hand-in-hand with departments across the organisation, ensuring that mental health projects resonate with and support larger organisational initiatives.
  • Strengthen ties with external entities like the Department of Health, community organisations, and other partners, ensuring that mental health projects are aligned with broader health and community priorities.
  • Act as the project's ambassador, representing both the organisation and the specific mental health project in meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Architect capacity-building strategies for the project staff and other organisational teams, bolstering the overall organisational capacity in the mental health domain.
  • Furnish consistent mentoring and technical backing to project team members, ensuring their growth aligns with organisational objectives.
  • Work hand-in-hand with departments across the organisation, ensuring that mental health projects resonate with and support larger organisational initiatives.
  • Strengthen ties with external entities like the Department of Health, community organisations, and other partners, ensuring that mental health projects are aligned with broader health and community priorities.
  • Act as the project's ambassador, representing both the organisation and the specific mental health project in meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Spearhead the drafting and submission of grant proposals: Lead the efforts in identifying funding opportunities, drafting compelling proposals, and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Oversee the creation and dissemination of publications: Supervise the production of research papers, case studies, and other publications, promoting the organisation's work and insights.
  • Conceptualise and deploy systems for meticulous tracking and reporting, focusing on project-specific metrics and their implications for the organisation at large.
  • Ensure rigorous data collection and analysis, adhering to both project mandates and organisational data policies.
  • Consistently produce reports for various stakeholders, from donors to senior management, highlighting the project's and the organisation's intertwined growth.
  • Proactively identify potential risks associated with mental health projects.
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand the potential impact and likelihood of identified risks.
  • Develop strategies to either prevent or reduce the adverse impacts of recognised risks.
  • Ensure the timely communication of risk assessments and mitigation strategies to relevant stakeholders.
  • Comply with all THINK rules and regulations and policies and procedures.
  • Be passionate about making a difference and add value to THINK.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as clinical psychology, psychiatry, or public health, with a focus on mental health.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mental health program design, implementation, and evaluation
  • Demonstrated expertise in global mental health challenges, interventions, and trends.
  • Currently licensed to practice one of the above areas.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions and best practices in mental health.
  • Experience and understanding of the public health system and practices.
  • Skills in budgeting, resource allocation, and managing of sub-partners is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with cultural nuances and challenges in delivering mental health support in diverse contexts.
  • Experience in research and publication in reputable journals is a plus.
