The Members Affairs Coordinator (MAC) plays a crucial role in supporting the effective operation of the Provincial and Satellite Offices by providing comprehensive administrative assistance to the Provincial Manager, Labour Relations Officers (LROs), Organising and Marketing Officers (OMOs), and other office staff. This role encompasses a variety of functions, including managing member-related services, providing administrative support in labour relations cases, coordinating events and meetings, and overseeing office management duties. The Coordinator also contributes to the financial administration, liaises with external service providers, and supports membership recruitment and retention activities. By performing a broad spectrum of tasks, the Members Affairs Coordinator ensures smooth office operations, promotes the rights and interests of members, and facilitates the successful execution of key organisational functions and activities. The position demands strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality support across multiple areas of operation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Matric/ Grade 12 Certificate &
Diploma in Administration, Business Management, Labour Relations, or a related field.
Strong understanding of general administrative tasks and office management
Specialised courses in Labour Law, HR, or Union Management.
Work experience
2-3 years of administrative experience in a similar role, preferably within the public sector or a unionised environment.
Experience in handling member services, event coordination, or financial administration.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Office Software: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office management software to prepare documents, manage spreadsheets, and track financial information
Financial Administration: Experience with managing petty cash, processing claims, and handling basic financial records, including familiarity with financial systems and tools for budget tracking
Event Coordination Software: Knowledge of tools and platforms used for event planning, scheduling, and tracking (e.g., event management systems or project management tools)
Database Management: Ability to manage and update member databases, ensuring accurate and timely information processing
Document and File Management: Experience with document management systems to organise, store, and retrieve both digital and paper files efficiently
Email and Communication Tools: Proficiency in email management, including the use of platforms like Microsoft Outlook and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
