Medical Officer (Doctor) - Wits PHRU - KlerksdorpFull job descriptionMain purpose of the job:To provide comprehensive medical care/clinical support to patients enrolled in treatment and prevention programs at the PHRU and to participants enrolled into clinical trials at the unitLocation:PHRU - Tshepong Hospital, Matlosana, KlerksdorpKey performance areas:Provision of clinical care to patients and participantsAccurate and comprehensive medical record keepingManagement of patient/participant flow in the clinicClinical trial oversight or management as designated by the principal investigatorParticipation in all phases/components of the research processFacilitation and resolution of queries from Data Management and Internal/ External Monitors within required timeframeComplete accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping, inclusive of reviewing of results for all participantsQuality Check of Source Documents during participant visit ensuring any outstanding components are proactively addressedRequired minimum education and training:Medical Degree (MBCHB)Qualified as Medical DoctorProfessional body registration: Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Medical Practitioner Independent practice.Registered with MPSRequired minimum work experience: At least 2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in patient treatment (Can be inclusive of internship/community service time).Research experience advantageousDesirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:Excellent clinical skills and attention to detailGood Clinical Practice (GCP) certificationExperience in HIV and TB treatment and careEmpathy and understanding of people living with HIV/AIDSExperience as a sub-investigator in a clinical trialComputer literacy xe2x80x93 competence in MS Word and Excel essentialAble to exercise discretion and independent decision makingAbility to work under pressure and work well across multiple different projects and teamsEmpathy and sensitivity toward people from key populationsResearch experience or willingness to learnTO APPLY:Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV with a cover letter (Maximum one page) that clearly states which vacancy you are applying for.Please Apply Online and complete your registration on Ditto Hire (our application tracking system) to enable and protect you as a candidate to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions.
