Role Overview
The Pink Forum is seeking a
qualified and motivated Medical Doctor (MBChB)
to serve as both
Clinician and Clinical Team Lead
at our Children's and Youth Social Wellness Clinic.
This position offers an opportunity to combine
direct patient care
with
clinical leadership and outreach oversight
, shaping the delivery of accessible, high-quality healthcare for children and youth in the community. The ideal candidate is passionate about
paediatrics, family medicine, and preventative community-based care
.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
Conduct consultations, assessments, and follow-up care for children and youth.
Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions.
Prescribe medication and interpret diagnostic and laboratory results.
Provide caregiver education, health promotion, and preventative guidance.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary clinical team (nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists).
Facilitate weekly clinical case reviews and care coordination meetings.
Provide oversight and support for complex or referred cases.
Mentor junior clinical staff and contribute to professional development.
ECD Outreach Support
Provide medical oversight for The Pink Forum ECD Outreach Program.
Review and manage referrals from ECD health and developmental screenings.
Participate in periodic outreach visits to strengthen partnerships with ECD centres and caregivers.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with
HPCSA
regulations, child protection laws, and clinic protocols.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards.
Contribute to reporting, audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
MBChB degree (Essential).
Valid HPCSA registration.
Completion of
Community Service
year.
Minimum
1-2 years' post-community service clinical experience
(Primary Care, Family Medicine, or Paediatrics preferred).
Proven leadership and coordination skills within a clinical setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to
accessible, preventative, and community-based child and youth healthcare
