A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Medical Advisor within their Oncology Division.

Job Purpose:
In line with overall product strategy, the Medical Advisor for Oncology is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and execution of Medical Affairs plans for assigned Therapy Area, providing scientific information, helping design and organize clinical studies, building educational dialogue with KOLs, funders and regulatory stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Internal

• Preparing the market for the launch of NCEs and NBEs in the oncology space - will bring scientific expertise to the cross-functional product team.
• Responsible for the execution of all medical affairs pre-launch and launch activities and preparing a medico- marketing strategy for the brand.
• Prepare patient funnels for business cases and evaluate all business cases from a scientific perspective (clinical unmet need, patient population, clinical guideline positioning, pipeline molecules, evolution of treatment landscape and treatment modalities, funding landscape)
• Identification of NCE/ NBE/ Generic/ Biosimilar assets for South Africa - BD Wishlist
• Custodian of Key External Expert relations

External

• Funders- engages with funders to secure reimbursement for oncology innovative assets
• Key external experts - scientific data generation and dissemination
• Scientific societies - identify and leverage opportunities to partner with scientific societies to increase share of voice within scientific community

Requirements:

• MBChB or PhD in Pharmacy/ Pharmacology or medical sciences
• At least 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a medical affairs role within pharma
• Oncology experience is a pre-requisite
• Experience in managing patient access programs
• Clinical research and publication experience
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience with patient journey mapping
• Experience in launching innovative assets
• Strong project management skills
• Advanced communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel 20% of time
