Job Description

Our client is looking for a talented and hands-on Mechatronics Engineer to join their dynamic team in the southern suburbs of Cape Town. The successful candidate will be involved in both mechanical and electrical product and machine design, as well as maintenance and system development. This is a diverse and challenging role for someone who enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems and products

Work on machine design, prototyping, and testing

Program and commission PLC and VFD systems

Maintain and improve existing systems and equipment

Contribute to aesthetic and functional product design

Perform hands-on physical work when required

Desired Experience & Qualification

Relevant degree or diploma in Mechatronic, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (B. Degree / B.Tech / National Diploma)

Proven experience in mechatronic or related engineering roles

Minimum 2 - 4 years' experience

Strong CAD design skills (SolidWorks or similar)

Knowledge of PLC and VFD setup and programming

Proficiency in electrical and electronic systems

Excellent mechanical design ability and technical problem-solving skills

A good eye for design and aesthetics is a strong advantage

Must be based in or near Cape Town's southern suburbs

Skills:

Practical, detail-oriented, and creative

Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Comfortable working in both design and workshop environments

Strong communication and teamwork skills
